Dispatcher
100% remote position

One of our clients in the construction industry asked us to find a passionate candidate in Mexico who’s comfortable working 100% remotely for a company outside of Mexico. The candidate needs to be fluent both in Spanish and English languages, very dynamic, well organized and has a sense of being one step forward to prevent any possible problem before it arises.

 

The candidate will be in charge of scheduling and dispatching workers, work crews, equipment, or drivers vehicles. Will directly coordinate activities for all our drivers engaged in delivering materials, equipment and dumpsters to job sites. Will handle incoming service orders, and resolve service issues. Will hold interactions with customers that includes customer service, sales, and operational staff (i.e. Route Managers, Mechanics etc.). Will use software to enter ticket information and track activity.

 

The candidate will be working for a company related to the construction industry, her or his main responsibilities will be:

 

  1. Oversees loading and dispatching of dump truck, roll off and equipment mobilization drivers and trucks.

  2. Plans schedules drivers for deliveries and ensure established routes and schedules are maintained.

  3. Communicates with equipment manager, supervisors, plant managers, job foremen, and customers to ensure project schedule goals are met.

  4. Hires and schedules outside trucks to assist our company on deliveries to jobs.

  5. Handles fields incoming calls and e-mails from customer service and sales department; manages requests for pick-up or container delivery and ensuring same-day service

  6. Troubleshoots and resolves potential delivery and pick-up problems before they result in service issues

  7. Ensures same-day service on missed pick-ups by coordinating driver movement in the field

  8. Records and documents information from drivers and distributes to appropriate departments

  9. Communicates with maintenance shop personnel and serves as an emergency point of contact for down wires and other issues

  10. Assisting drivers to fill it out fleet maintenance reports

  11. Orders state, county, and city permits for oversize and overweight loads.

  12. Approves and codes timecards, fuel tickets, and delivery tickets.

  13. Tracks drivers’ hours of service and monitors daily inspections to ensure department of transportation compliance.

  14. Compiles list of available trucks. Records time of departure, destination, cargo, and expected time of return.

  15. Assigns trucks according to factors such as length and purpose of trip, and freight

requirements.

16.Issues keys, record sheets, paperwork and credentials to drivers.

17.Monitor fleet in real time using special software and GPS to keep track of its location.

18.Issues equipment to drivers such as material handling supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE).

19.During absence of other dispatch personnel, additional tasks may be required.

20.Secondary functions of general laborer and other duties may be assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • BA (truncated, in progress or completed) in Business, Communications, or similar with minimum 1.5 years of experience as a dispatcher, preferably for a general construction or hauling company.

  • Highschool diploma with at least 3 years of experience as a dispatcher preferably for a general construction or hauling company

  • Basic computer skills (familiarity with tracking and fleet management software)

  • Fluent both in Spanish and English is a must.

  • Experience working remotely.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills

  • Well organized and attention to detail required.

  • Ability to calculate basic figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, dimensions, and area.

  • Highly dependable, ability to work in fast paced call center environment

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

 

It will be a plus:

  • Worked previously with Trux or Samsara software.

  • Extensive knowledge of construction jobs, equipment, and project needs.
