We have a unique opportunity for you. One of our clients in the construction industry asked us to find a passionate candidate in Mexico who’s comfortable working 100% remotely for a company outside of Mexico as a Procurement Leader. He or she needs to be fluent both in Spanish and English, and will be accountable for obtaining a competitive price on equipment, services and or material in correct quantities, quality, in a timely fashion according to the company and or project needs and specifications..

 

The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, search for better deals and find more profitable suppliers, developing an excellent relationship with our vendors. As Procurement Leader, you must keep and update inventory records, purchase records to avoid overpaying for goods, and services and to avoid shortages of popular goods or surpluses of go.
 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Review plans to verify within accordance of approved take-offs, scopes of work, proper reason codes utilized, and work with Project Managers, Superintendents, vendors, to  resolve issues as they arise.

• Manage overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of procurement for the facility.

• Implement procurement strategies to maintain security of supply and optimum value for money.

• Perform all procurement and contracting activities including pre-qualification.

• Develop key relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to improve business.

• Implement change and develop new processes to better procure goods and services.

• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to obtain best price and service.

• Identify cost reduction opportunities to achieve financial goals.

• Analyze market and delivery trends so as to develop procurement technologies and processes that support those trends.

• Identify areas for improvement to continually drive performance and business results.

• Review current processes for procurement and make recommendations where apropiate.

• Provide periodic reporting for management on purchasing, controls and processes.

• Ensure SCD has only the best subcontractors in order to meet our client’s needs.

• Ensure that SCD’ s subcontractors are continuously improving in the areas of quality, cost, and service.

 

Requirements

• BA in Business, Industrial or Civil Engineer, or similar with minimum 3 years of experience as a Procurement Leader, Manager or any other Procurement equivalent role.

• Must be able to read and understand blueprints and have a basic understanding of construction materials.

• Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management

• Interest in market dynamics along with business sense

• A knack for negotiation and networking

• Ability to gather and analyses data and to work with figures

• Solid judgment along with decision making skills

• Strong leadership capabilities

• Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills

• Excellent data entry skills. Must be able to input data with speed and accuracy.

• Excellent organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities, adjust to sudden changes in workflow and meet demanding deadlines. Must be accurate and detailed oriented.

• Bilingual (Spanish & English)
